Amazon has rolled out a new feature for its AI assistant, Alexa for Shopping, that allows users to verify the authenticity of messages purportedly from the company. By comparing incoming messages to a database of all Amazon communications, Alexa can confirm whether a text, email, or phone call is genuine or a scam. However, it will only declare a message authentic if it is 'completely certain.' If the AI identifies a message as a fake, it advises users to check their orders in the app or contact Amazon’s support team directly. This update follows a similar feature introduced earlier this year, which enabled users to forward suspicious messages to 'verify@amazon.com.' The move comes as part of a broader range of updates to Alexa for Shopping, which now includes the capability to track new product releases.
