Meet Clucky, the latest alarm app that promises to shake you awake with the sound of a crowing rooster. But don’t be fooled, you can also choose from gentle chimes, birdsong or the classic beeping noise. For those who need a bit of a challenge, Clucky throws in a series of missions like solving math problems or typing what the app says.
The app’s creator, former software engineer Adrian Angelo Abelarde, aims to make dismissing an alarm just “irritating and ridiculous enough” to ensure a full awakening. A “Rooster Report” tracks your wake-up performance and a “Nest” or “Flock” feature lets you create private alarm groups with friends or family, keeping each other accountable.
Clucky is now available on the App Store, with a pro subscription priced at $39.99 per year. Will this be the app that finally conquers the eternal struggle of hitting the snooze button?
