Meta Opens Muse’s Hardware Toolkit

Is the future of AI DIY? Meta thinks so—sort of.

Meta has unveiled a new initiative, dubbed Muse Gadgets, which invites developers to create custom hardware that integrates with their popular personal AI agent. The open-source project, which includes firmware, a Linux SDK, and project ideas, allows users to add hardware components like e-ink displays or TV-stick interfaces to Muse. The company has also distributed 5,000 free Home Links to Muse subscribers, which enable Muse to connect to home networks. This move by Meta suggests an expansion beyond the standalone chatbot, aiming to involve small businesses and enterprises. However, the DIY aspect may appeal more to tech enthusiasts than the general public.
