Nous Research, the creators of the open-source Hermes Agent, has just hit a valuation of $1.5 billion after raising $90 million in a Series B funding round. Backers include tech giants like Nvidia and Union Square Ventures, and even Donald Trump Jr.'s 1789 Capital.
The company's open-source agent has been cloned over 24 million times, driving 2.5% of global AI token usage. Now, they're targeting the enterprise market with 'Hermes for Businesses,' allowing companies to use custom AI agents for secure, multi-step workflows.
By mid-September 2026, Nous Research was already raking in $36 million in annual revenue and aims to hit $100 million by the end of the year, according to The Wall Street Journal.
With the funding, they're expanding their reach from individuals to businesses, signaling the growing need for AI that can handle complex tasks while maintaining data privacy and security. As we integrate more AI into our lives, will we ever need to do anything ourselves again?
