Dessn, a new design startup backed by $6 million in funding, has developed technology that allows teams to run their codebases in the cloud without setup cost. This means designers can hand off their work more easily to developers and iterate quickly on existing projects.
The company's founders believe that as code becomes cheaper, design tools need to adapt to become a differentiator. Dessn abstracts away dependencies so you can focus on creating new workflows and features directly in your production environment.
With integrations planned for collaboration tools like Slack and meeting notetakers, Dessn aims to make the process of designing in code as seamless as possible. While it doesn't currently have any integrations, it plans to start at $39 per user per month after a free trial period that includes five prompts per week.
The tool is designed for teams with an existing codebase who want to iterate on their designs without the need to switch from their current design tools. Its founders are also token maximalists, preferring to provide flexible tools over static ones.
