OpenAI Overhauls Leadership for Unified Product Push

As tech giants race, AI firms refocus on core offerings

OpenAI has restructured its leadership team to streamline product development and focus on key areas. Greg Brockman will now lead the company’s product strategy alongside his role in AI infrastructure.

The move comes as OpenAI seeks to integrate its AI coding agent Codex with ChatGPT into a unified consumer and enterprise experience. Thibault Sottiaux has been appointed to head core products, while Nick Turley transitions to an enterprise-focused role previously led by Ashley Alexander from Instagram.

These changes follow recent executive shake-ups, including the medical leave of OpenAI’s AGI deployment CEO, Fidji Simo, and significant departures among other key executives. The aim is to simplify product offerings ahead of potential IPO plans, facing increasing competition in the AI market.
