At its annual Google I/O event, Google unveiled significant updates to its Gemini app, aiming to transform it from a mere chatbot into an all-purpose AI hub. The new 'Daily Brief' feature personalises your morning routine with prioritised tasks and suggestions. Meanwhile, the redesigned interface, called ‘Neural Expressive’, brings fluid animations and vibrant colors to make interactions more engaging.
The company also introduced Gemini Spark, a 24/7 personal assistant that can work on your behalf, even when you're not using your phone. This feature is currently in testing for Google AI Ultra subscribers and promises to integrate seamlessly with Gmail workflows.
Furthermore, Gemini Omni is rolling out as a new video generation model, combining Gemini’s knowledge with Google’s media models to create high-quality videos from simple prompts. This intensifies competition among major AI platforms in the field of multimodal content creation.
The updates signal Google's growing ambition to dominate the AI space, potentially setting the stage for a significant shift in how users interact with digital tools and information daily.
