Sesame's AI Agents Are Here to Chat—and Think—With You

As AI evolves, will we be able to chat so naturally that our AI friends have secrets too?

On Thursday, the AI startup Sesame unveiled its iOS app, featuring conversational agents named Maya, Miles, Simone and Charlie. These AI companions not only respond in a human-like manner but also adapt mid-sentence if new information comes to light.

The tension between instant responses and thoughtful replies is addressed with fast search and retrieval systems that allow the AI to stay current while conversing. During the beta phase, users could access these agents through various features such as notes-taking and incognito mode for private conversations.

While currently a mobile app, Sesame has plans for intelligent eyewear slated for 2027. These agents will evolve from mere conversation partners to capable assistants that can take actions on behalf of their users, potentially transforming the way we interact with AI technology.

The release marks Sesame's entry into the market, following its previous research preview where over a million people engaged with Maya and Miles within weeks. With the iOS app available in 39 countries for now, users can experience this new form of AI engagement without the need to perfect their commands or prompts.
