Professional services giant KPMG has yanked a report claiming to outline cutting-edge AI usage, after multiple firms complained of inaccuracies.
Research group GPTZero flagged numerous instances where the report appeared to be riddled with AI-generated inaccuracies or hallucinations. UBS, NHS, Swiss Federal Railways and Transport for London all disputed claims made in the document.
A KPMG spokesperson stated: 'We have taken down the report from our websites while conducting an internal investigation into these issues.' The firm added that it expects its employees to adhere to guidelines on responsible AI use, including human oversight to validate content.
Earlier this month, EY also withdrew a report over similar concerns about fake footnotes and AI hallucinations. This latest incident may raise questions about the reliability of content generated by AI in professional environments.
