AI’s Hiring Bias and Weather Data Shenanigans

As AI judges job applications, can we trust its weather forecasts?

AI is getting better at finding you a job but might be picking up some human biases in the process. New research shows that AI could stereotype applicants more than humans do.


The stakes are high when it comes to weather data too. As prediction markets rely on accurate forecasts, there’s a growing risk of weather data being manipulated to gain an advantage. This could threaten the accuracy of weather predictions and lead to bigger systemic issues.


In other tech news, SpaceX is negotiating with the Pentagon for AI compute deals, while Anthropic talks to Meta about acquiring compute resources. Meanwhile, politicians are trying to control their chatbots’ messages, and the Pentagon is speeding up development of AI weapons systems. China’s Moonshot project has paused new subscriptions due to high demand.
