Search engines are getting a makeover to cater to artificial intelligence rather than humans. Andrey Styskin and Matthias Petri’s startup Keenable aims to create an index of over 100 billion documents specifically for AI agents, providing a more efficient source of information.
The company, backed by Accel, has already secured partnerships with AI labs and voice AI companies like Gradium. While the costs are high, Styskin believes that Keenable can offer a cost-efficient solution to AI companies looking for better search capabilities.
According to Styskin, traditional enterprise search solutions are too costly at web scale. Keenable’s approach is to innovate on how search space can be narrowed based on specific queries, making it cheaper and more efficient for AI agents.
Their upcoming product, Web Query Language, aims to help AI systems answer questions by combining information from various sources even if the full answers aren’t available anywhere in one piece. This tool could significantly enhance the ability of AI agents to provide accurate responses.
While Keenable faces competition and Google’s own overhaul, Styskin remains optimistic about the future of their startup as it scales its team and prepares for the AI-driven era of search.
