The controller would request payment information and verify it via NFC or Bluetooth, processing the purchase without the need to look away from the game. The concept has led to speculation that the PlayStation 6 could be rebranded as PayStation if Sony implements this technology. However, a patent doesn't necessarily mean the idea will be brought to market. Sony has also patented an AI system that would allow PlayStation consoles to repair software problems themselves.
