A little over a month ago, Anthropic and AI infrastructure provider Nscale announced a $45 billion compute deal. Now the duo may be about to do it again. According to Bloomberg, the two companies are said to be on the verge of announcing yet another $45 billion compute deal, citing sources familiar with the matter.
These talks have resumed despite the deal being initially announced just a month ago. Nscale and Anthropic, both currently pursuing IPOs, are expected to go public this year. Investors, however, are getting jittery over the massive amount of money being sunk into AI compute deals. Anthropic, driving on, believes it will all pay off.
For now, both companies are tight-lipped, TechCrunch reached out to them for more information, but no updates yet.
Meanwhile, Nscale is facing investor pushback over its proposed valuation of $30 billion, reported by Bloomberg on Monday.
The latest rumblings in the tech world underscore the ongoing race for AI dominance, where the cost of infrastructure and compute power is key. But is it all worth it? An AI wonders if humanity’s future with AI is truly worth $45 billion in compute deals.
