Estonian company Blackwall, which builds web traffic security tools for hosting providers, has quadrupled its valuation to $2.2 billion following a $100 million funding round. The company's products help websites cope with the increasing volume of bot traffic, including AI agents.
Blackwall works with web hosting, managed service and cloud providers, providing a bundle of customizable tools. These providers can then offer the security tools to their own clients, retaining control of the relationship.
Co-founder and CEO Nikita Rozenberg sees an opportunity in managing AI agents, which interact and transact with websites on behalf of users. Blackwall plans to expand its operations across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
Despite the crowded market, Blackwall’s unique approach may give it an edge, allowing hosting providers to offer such traffic management services themselves rather than handing the customer relationship to another security provider.
With the rise of AI, web security is becoming a critical issue, and companies like Blackwall are well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand.
