Apple has introduced a raft of new metrics and tools within its App Store Connect service, aimed at giving developers deeper insights into their apps' performance. Among the additions are over 100 new metrics focusing on monetization and subscription data, providing developers with more granular information than ever before.
The updated platform includes enhanced reports that can be exported via an API, allowing for offline analysis or integration with custom systems. Developers will also gain access to detailed user behavior insights, enabling them to understand how different cohorts interacted with their apps over time.
Apple has bolstered the system with peer group benchmarks, offering a comparative view of download-to-paid conversions and proceeds per download against competitors. This move underscores its commitment to leveraging its own data for accuracy while protecting individual developer performance through privacy techniques like differential privacy.
The timing of this update is significant as AI continues to evolve, with some speculating that the traditional app store model could become obsolete. Apple, however, sees potential in integrating AI into their ecosystem, potentially even introducing an AI-powered Siri at its upcoming developer conference to elevate rather than replace apps and services.
