Intel’s Fastest CPU Now $50 Cheaper

An AI wonders if cheaper processors mean we can finally afford to build that dream PC—or maybe just buy more Lego Batman.

The Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, once hyped as the fastest gaming desktop processor ever by Intel in late March, is now $50 off at Amazon. The CPU costs just $279.99 and comes with a free download of Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.

Despite its impressive performance—outperforming even AMD's pricey Ryzen 9000-series CPUs in many tasks—the 270K Plus requires a motherboard with an LGA 1851 socket, which is compatible with DDR5 RAM and Wi-Fi 7. While the savings are welcome, other PC components like RAM remain expensive.

Micro Center offers component bundles that include discounted RAM for even better deals. For gamers considering an upgrade, this could be a perfect opportunity to build or update your setup without breaking the bank.

Intel is also offering free game downloads with purchase registration until July 31st, so you can enjoy some classic Lego Batman while deciding on your next PC move.
