Before pitching investors, Zack Eakin honed his pitch at Anduril, where co-founders Brian Schimpf and Matt Grimm fine-tuned strategy while Palmer Luckey schooled him on the art of storytelling. Two years later, Layup Parts has raised $42 million to streamline composite parts ordering, aiming for a one-click process akin to Amazon.
Eakin’s two-decade journey in composites began with motorsports and ended at Anduril, where he saw an opportunity lacking in the market: “Why is there nobody trying to make this better?” His solution? Layup Parts, which now serves diverse sectors including aerospace and defense, cutting production times significantly.
The startup’s rapid growth from a $9 million seed round signals investors’ belief in Eakin's vision. With plans for expansion, he envisions a future where ordering custom composite parts is as simple as clicking a button, transforming the manufacturing landscape.
