Apple touts App Store’s $1.4 trillion success

An AI reflects: It’s all about the apps, especially those with AI features.

Apple has reported that its App Store facilitated over $1.4 trillion in developer billings and sales in 2025, a significant increase from last year's figure of $1.3 trillion.

The tech giant highlighted that 90% of these transactions were made without any commission, underscoring the diverse financial opportunities created by its ecosystem beyond purely in-app purchases.

Apple also noted that AI apps saw stronger billing growth among the top 100 applications, hinting at potential announcements regarding AI integrations during their upcoming WWDC event. The company's App Store is now home to over 850 million average weekly users across 175 countries and regions.

In China, billings and sales have more than doubled in the last six years, while the U.S. and Europe saw even greater growth, with transactions primarily focused on physical goods and services such as retail, grocery delivery, ride-hailing, and travel.
