Google has unveiled a dedicated mobile app for its finance services, offering real-time market data, live news, and AI-driven features like 'Key Moments.' The launch comes amid growing competition in the financial app space, with Google keen to stake out its territory.
The new app will first hit Android devices before an iOS version launches later this year. Additional features are on the way, including the ability to listen to live earnings calls and use AI for tailored insights based on your watchlist or portfolio.
Meanwhile, the revamped Google Finance web experience is out of beta with improved portfolio tracking and AI research tools. Users can now ask the AI assistant questions about their investments, such as which sectors are underrepresented in their portfolios, all from a single dashboard.
The move highlights Google's ambitions beyond search and into more interactive financial management. With AI at its core, this app aims to provide users with deeper engagement and richer insights, making it harder for them to ignore the markets.
