Apple is set to hike prices for its AppleCare Plus service, with new subscribers facing monthly increases of $0.50 and annual hikes of $5.
This move comes after similar price hikes were announced for iPads, Macs, the Vision Pro, HomePod devices, and the Apple TV 4K last month. Tim Cook attributed previous price increases to a RAM shortage, but this time, higher component costs are likely playing a role.
For new sign-ups, the cost of AppleCare Plus on a 13-inch MacBook Air will rise from $7.49 monthly or $74.99 annually to $7.99 and $79.99 respectively. Existing subscribers wonβt see any changes in their plans.
While this might be tough news for gadget enthusiasts, it could also help Apple mitigate the impact of higher component costs. Despite these price increases, iPhone users are still shielded from hikes, with no reported changes yet to the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.
