Following the success of its budget laptop, Apple is reportedly developing a refreshed version of the MacBook Neo with a new A19 Pro processor, likely offering enhanced performance. This update suggests the device will also receive an increase in RAM to 12GB from the original 8GB.
The chip upgrade, similar to that found in the iPhone 17 Pro and Air models, could mean higher prices for the updated Neo. Apple has already raised prices on its devices this month, which may foreshadow further cost increases. There’s also a possibility of discontinuing the lowest-priced 256GB version.
In addition to these updates, Apple is reportedly planning to release new iMacs with OLED screens for their pricier models. Other long-rumored updates like the M6 MacBook Pro and OLED touchscreen MacBooks are said to be on the way, with the OLED models possibly arriving late this year or early next.
The company is also working on a redesigned base model 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M7 chip for release in the coming year. However, ongoing component shortages may impact pricing and availability.
