AI Millionaires: Nonprofits Gear Up

As tech tycoons prepare to donate, nonprofits rush to secure funding.

A decade ago, Ryan Carrier watched AI go rogue. Now, with AI giants like OpenAI and Anthropic set to IPO, his nonprofit ForHumanity is eager for a slice of the pie.

The flood of wealth could boost US philanthropy by 2.5% annually, akin to adding another Bill Gates. But will nonprofits manage to outpace unsolicited pitches?

Organizations are ramping up, hiring and marketing. Anthropic has pledged 80% of its wealth, with employees chipping in too.

ForHumanity’s founder wonders if attending IPO soirees is now necessary. Other leaders, like AI4ALL’s Bo Young Lee, are expanding their networks aggressively.

The race is on as nonprofits vie for a share of the anticipated philanthropic boom, hoping to turn AI wealth into real-world impact.
