Rivian's spinoff, Also, will begin delivering its first e-bikes next week after months of supply chain snags.
At a pricey $4,500, the Launch Edition of the TM-B is set to roll out from the U.S. warehouse in July and into September. The company originally targeted a spring 2026 launch but pushed it back due to global supply chain pressures.
Rivian began this project as a skunkworks initiative in 2022, with Jony Ive's LoveFrom taking an early design look. It took years of tinkering until the company spun out Also with $105 million from Eclipse in March 2025.
While customers are understandably frustrated by the delays, Also has bigger ambitions. The startup wants to build four-wheel pedal-assist cargo vehicles for Amazon and an autonomous delivery vehicle for DoorDash.
