This financial influx would be a welcome boost for Paxton, whose fundraising efforts have lagged behind those of his rivals. Despite an endorsement from President Trump, Paxton has struggled to match the funding levels seen in past races.

While Musk’s previous voter turnout operations yielded mixed results, his injection of funds into Texas could tilt the balance towards Republicans. The Republican National Committee currently holds a substantial war chest, but Democrats are also looking for support, with national committees and outside groups providing crucial backing to candidates.

The spending disparity is stark, with the two main GOP super PACs holding $380 million compared to Democrats’ $116 million, while MAGA Inc boasts about $400 million. Musk’s anticipated expenditure adds further weight to this partisan tug-of-war.
