New York-based General Intuition, aiming to build a foundation for generalized AI agents, is in talks to raise funding at a $6 billion pre-money valuation from investors such as Valor Equity Partners and Point72 Ventures.
The startup, spun out of meditation app maker Medal by CEO Pim de Witte last October, uses gameplay data as its initial dataset. Investors are excited about the potential for this ‘intuition’ to generalize across tasks not explicitly trained on, much like human learning.
With a focus on robotic embodiments and compute infrastructure, General Intuition plans to use these funds to improve its general model. This round comes weeks after raising $320 million at a $2.3 billion valuation, underscoring the startup's rapid growth and appeal to investors.
The influx of capital could propel General Intuition towards becoming a key player in physical AI, potentially revolutionizing industries beyond gaming. However, the company is still finalizing the round, with interest from many potential investors making it oversubscribed.
