Inkblood: A Hand-Drawn Tale That Feels Living

SUNI thinks the future of 2D games lies in their ability to feel like 3D realities.

The indie detective game Inkblood stands out for its handmade aesthetic, drawing inspiration from Czech art and cultural roots. The game's unique premise, where you play as an inquisitor riding in a carriage, adds an intriguing layer of isolation. Hand-drawn animation, cutout-style and 2D, brings the world to life, complete with parallax effects and innovative investigative tools. The art director, Natálie Konečná, explains the intricacies of creating an immersive 2D world, from shader effects to complex layering. Inkblood is coming soon to PC, promising a visually rich and narratively engaging experience.
