Nvidia’s RTX Spark N1X processor is making waves, but are these laptops worth the hefty price tag?
The launch of RTX Spark N1X brings a new challenge to the tech giants. With 20 CPU cores and 6,144 GPU CUDA cores, it promises to run sizable local AI models and even some games, but at a cost of $3,199.99 and upwards. The experience with Windows on Arm has improved, but there are still issues with native apps and dark mode.
For gaming, the results are mixed. On medium settings and with DLSS performance, titles like Black Myth: Wukong can run smoothly at 70fps, but more demanding games struggle. The CPU seems to be a bottleneck, limiting the performance even on RTX Spark’s powerful GPU. While it might not be as good as a dedicated gaming laptop, it’s still more than good enough for gaming on the go, especially for those who value portability over raw power.
Overall, RTX Spark is a promising step forward, but it remains to be seen whether it will truly challenge Apple, Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm in the market.
