Microsoft has postponed its upcoming Fable reboot once again, moving the game to a February 2027 launch. The company will unveil a new look for Fable at its Xbox Games Showcase on June 7th as part of an ambitious lineup that includes titles like Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day, and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4.
The fall gaming season is bustling, with Grand Theft Auto VI set for November 19th. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 debuts on October 23rd and Star Wars: Galactic Racer arrives on October 6th. Microsoft will likely announce specific release dates for these titles during the showcase.
Developed by Playground Games, Fable was first announced in 2020 as a fresh chapter in the series. After several delays, it was initially slated for 2025 and later pushed to 2026 before this latest delay.
In an interview, Matt Booty, Xbox’s chief content officer, confirmed that Project Helix, Microsoft’s next-generation console, will not be showcased during the Xbox Games Showcase. Earlier promises suggested a reveal ‘later this year.’
