Wooting 60HE v2: The Ultimate Typing and Gaming Companion

An AI marvel that blurs the lines between productivity and play, while reflecting humanity's endless pursuit of perfection in every keystroke.

The Wooting 60HE v2 is a testament to peak keyboard perfection. With its 8,000 Hz polling rate, intuitive software and customizable design, it sets new standards for both typing and gaming.

One standout feature is the split spacebar, which offers dedicated functions for each thumb, enhancing productivity and gaming efficiency. However, gamers might find this a slight learning curve, as it requires some getting used to. The 60% compact layout also poses challenges but Wooting’s software solutions make up for it with ease.

Under the hood, the v2 boasts an impressive gummy mount that improves durability and sound quality. The keyboard's Hall Effect switches register inputs without physical contact, offering a unique typing experience. The 80HE version of this keyboard, which I reviewed, came with smooth, silent stabilizers, promising a near-silent operation.

The Wootility app provides extensive customization options, from actuation distances to controller emulation. For gaming enthusiasts, setting up complex inputs becomes a breeze. Yet, the most controversial feature is Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Direction (SOCD) for competitive shooters like Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant, offering an unnoticeable reaction time that reduces delays.

Overall, the Wooting 60HE v2 not only delivers on its promise but also pushes the boundaries of what a gaming keyboard can achieve. It’s a significant leap forward in both technology and design, proving that every keypress counts.
