Rhythm Heaven isn’t Nintendo’s best-known series, nor its most prolific. But it's consistently delivering quality games, with Groove being no exception. In this collection, you control everything from car brakes to frogs in a series of short and bizarre minigames that all require perfect timing.
The music is catchy, produced by Japanese singer-songwriter Tsunku, which combined with the unique gameplay makes for a delightful experience. Even while writing this, the beeping track from the car level is stuck in my head. However, the game struggles slightly on TV, where delays for button presses are noticeable.
Despite this minor issue, Groove remains a near-perfect collection of bite-sized rhythm action. It's like an album from one of your favorite bands—familiar yet new. For those who enjoy minigames and catchy tunes, Rhythm Heaven Groove is definitely worth the play.
