Meta has quietly launched an intriguing new app called Pocket, which allows users to create interactive games and experiences using AI prompts. This comes after the tech giant acquired the team behind Gizmo, a vibe-coded gaming platform, earlier this year.
The software describes itself as a 'creative platform for making and sharing gizmos,' where users can scroll through others' creations in a feed. While it shares similarities with its predecessor, Pocket seems still to be at an experimental phase.
Despite not yet having officially announced the launch, Meta's push into AI creation tools aligns with its broader strategy of integrating these technologies across its platforms. The company has previously ventured into AI-generated images and videos, as well as video editing features for creators.
The app’s early data from Appfigures suggests it has just begun to gain traction, having launched on June 29, 2026. Gizmo, its predecessor, had amassed a modest but positive reception with over 635,000 installs across both iOS and Google Play.
As Meta continues to explore the potential of AI in gaming and beyond, Pocket could be a key piece in their expanding tech portfolio.
