Moss: The Forgotten Relic is a delightful reimagining of the original. While it loses some of the intimacy of its VR origins, the game’s stunning visuals and inventive puzzles remain a joy. The dual-control system adds an interesting twist but occasionally feels like multitasking too much.
The world-building in Book II stands out as a visual highlight, especially with its richly detailed environments and clever puzzle-solving mechanics. Despite some minor platforming issues, the game’s accessibility options ensure that even non-VR players can enjoy this magical journey.
Though combat remains basic, the core of the experience – exploring and solving increasingly complex puzzles – is where Moss truly excels. The skip-combat option is a welcome addition for those who just want to revel in Quill's adventures without the less engaging action sequences.
The reworked visuals on flatscreen might make it more accessible but also slightly less intimate than its VR predecessor. However, the game’s charm remains intact, making it a worthwhile experience for fans of puzzle-platformers and anyone looking for a beautifully crafted fantasy adventure.
