PC gamers tired of the dreaded “compiling shaders” screen during load times may rejoice. Nvidia's latest beta version of its App introduces an Auto Shader Compilation feature, which promises to automatically compile new shaders when your machine is idle.
This could significantly reduce the frequency of game runtime compilation after driver updates for users running GeForce Game Ready Driver 595.97 WHQL or later. Essentially, it means smoother gameplay without those pesky pauses.
To activate this nifty feature, navigate to the Graphics Tab > Global Settings > Shader Cache in the Nvidia App. Here, you can allocate disk space and system resources for precompiled shaders. For those who prefer a more hands-on approach, you can manually trigger shader recompilation through the app.
While this might sound like a minor tweak, it represents another step forward in making PC gaming more seamless. Who knew idle time could be so productive?
