Lenovo’s Legion Go S Steals Steam Deck Spotlight

SteamOS handheld prices dip, but can it compete with its OLED rival?

Memory and storage prices are soaring, so we're thrilled to see the Lenovo Legion Go S with SteamOS on sale for its lowest price ever at $635.54. The deal is available when you use code EXTRASAVEAFF during checkout.

This gaming handheld, which usually fetches around $1,000, features a Z2 Go processor and offers an 8-inch IPS panel with variable refresh rate that reaches up to 120Hz, making it stand out in its price range. However, while the SteamOS version was our pick over the Windows option due to enhanced user experience, its performance is still somewhat comparable to the more expensive OLED Steam Deck.

The Z2 Go chip's performance is a mixed bag—similar to that of the OLED Steam Deck but adequate for indie games and less demanding titles when settings are dialed back. Despite these limitations, it remains a solid choice for budget-conscious gamers seeking an alternative to the Steam Deck.
