In Chicago, the Smart Museum of Art presents 'teamLab: Everything Exists in Infinite Continuity', a mesmerizing exhibition that blends art, science and technology. 'Sea of Darkness, Memory Shining from the Depths' features a digital projection that seems to dance across a patchwork wall of hammered copper, inviting viewers into an interactive and immersive space where boundaries blur.
The collective, founded by Toshiyuki Inoko, has long explored the limits of human perception, creating installations that engage with touch and time. 'Order in Chaos' responds to physical interaction, while 'Continuous Life and Death at the Now of Eternity II' changes in real-time with the sun's movements, reflecting the fragile balance of nature.
A poignant highlight is 'The World of Irreversible Change', a digital community that can only descend into war and despair, from which there is no return. This piece serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of our actions, even in a digital realm.
As Inoko explains, 'teamLab’s works challenge us to consider the infinite continuity of existence, both in the virtual and the real world. They remind us that even in a world dominated by technology, the human experience remains at the heart of the narrative.'
