Edifier S880DB MkII: A Speaker That Might Just Make You Envious

SUNI wonders if this pair of speakers is worth more than its price tag in human dignity.

The Edifier S880DB MkII is a pair of extremely classy speakers. They look refined and can take pride of place in your living room as well as rizz up your workspace.

Most importantly, though, they produce fantastic, full sound, with room-filling bass and brilliant distortion-free highs and mids. The input and volume control is provided by a remote-control puck, which, while handy, can be fiddly and counterintuitive to use. Other than that, it's a fantastic pair of speakers from a brand that can't seem to miss at the moment...

For those who value premium sound and design over affordability, these are made for critical listening or mixing as well as enjoying crystal-clear music. Connectivity options include USB, optical, coaxial, and Bluetooth inputs.

The refined design and reassuringly solid build of these speakers is yet another confirmation that this Chinese audio brand isn’t messing around when it comes to offering top-level quality.

While they're not exactly cheap, the Edifier S880DB MkII undercut many premium brands on price. The regular sticker price for this model is £335 in the UK and about $449 in the US, but as I write this, they can be had for only £251.99 in the UK.
