New Faces at The Met and Beyond

From pink pigments to Queen’s artist grants, it's a week of art world changes.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has appointed Oluremi C. Onabanjo as its new curator of photographs, bringing her deep expertise in African and Black diasporic histories.

A whopping €493,350 in grants will support 129 artists and organizations from Queens, including Adelle Yingxi Lin, who translates environmental data into cultural textiles.

Other highlights include Melissa Chiu's move to the Guggenheim Museum as director, and the selection of Bryan Collier for this year’s Carle Honors at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.

Meanwhile, Stuart Semple is marking 10 years of his 'pinkest pink' by giving it away free, but not to Kapoor—proving that sharing really does feel nice sometimes.
