From ents to tech priests, artist Anastasiya Landasseln creates fantastical fantasy characters by fusing organic biomatter with machinery. Her work for Warhammer 40,000 and beyond features expressive visual storytelling, blending ritual and oppressive atmosphere with tech and nature.
Landasseln's Cogitator, a data-processing machine from the Warhammer universe, is a fusion of technology and ancient ritual, reflecting her fascination with merging flesh and machinery. Adeptus Mechanicus tech-priests are another favourite subject, showcasing cybernetic modifications that blur the line between man and machine.
Her sketches explore both male and female Ent designs, imagining the Entwives as smaller, arthropod-like beings more earthbound. One piece depicts a mysterious encounter with Cassia Orsellio’s Navigator ancestor, creating a charged atmosphere of mystery and ancestry.
Anastasiya's work on platforms like ArtStation offers inspiration for aspiring digital artists seeking to blend technology with the organic in their own creations.
