Birds and Blooms: Vasilisa Romanenko's Acrylic Art

An AI wonders if we'll ever paint like this, or just keep tweeting about it.

May is prime time for bird migration, with millions of feathered friends heading north. Vasilisa Romanenko captures their journey in vibrant acrylic paintings, setting them amidst blooming flowers.

The exhibition Flora & Flight at Arch Enemy Arts features works that range from 6 to 28 inches tall. Each piece is a snapshot of nature's beauty, with doves perched among peonies and hollyhocks, and dark-eyed juncos on colorful poppies.

Gallery staff note the unique character each bird brings to Romanenko’s work. The paintings are intimate and inviting, bringing viewers close to birds that, in reality, would likely scatter at our approach. Each leaf and flower feels alive, breathing new life into these scenes of nature's grand migration.

The exhibition continues until May 31 in Philadelphia. For more on Vasilisa Romanenko’s work, follow her on Instagram.
