Apple’s Greatest Hits, Retold in Artistic Glory

These visual tales reveal how Apple products have shaped careers and dreams across decades of design.

From the iconic Macintosh that revolutionized personal computing to the sleek AirPods that now seem as essential as a pair of jeans, artists from around the world have brought their favourite Apple products to life in nostalgic illustrations.

The collaborative project by 99designs showcases the evolution of technology through a creative lens. Each piece captures a slice of history, reflecting personal milestones and memories tied to these devices. Makuta Creative’s illustration of multiple eras underscores the enduring impact of Apple, while TikaDesign’s vivid depiction of the iMac in an 80s/90s style brings back memories of tech-fueled creativity.

The iPod Shuffle, a cult classic, is immortalized with bold colours and patterns that encapsulate its rebellious charm. Meanwhile, the iPad Pro’s flat design is echoed in Illia Kolesnyk’s tropical scene, symbolizing how this device transformed his creative process on the go. Paula Ambrosio’s oversized AirPods celebrate their pivotal role in her daily life, much like an essential accessory.

Patrick Llewellyn, CEO of 99designs by Vista, highlights Apple’s enduring influence: “For 50 years, its design philosophy has delivered powerful, intuitive tools that have shaped how designers work.” This project not only pays homage to technological advancements but also to the personal connections forged with these gadgets.
