Belgian artist Kristof Santy transforms the mundane into a vibrant tapestry in his latest collection. His palette of vivid hues and flattened perspectives breathe life into familiar scenes—fruit and vegetables, furniture, and even modes of transport.
The new series expands on earlier inquiries, now focusing on everyday objects like a subtly wrinkled striped sweater vest hanging from a rod and an eye-catching modernist chair in fuchsia pushed against a kelly green wall. Earlier works also make appearances, such as a short roll-up ladder dangling from the door of a hovering helicopter with no pilot.
On display this fall at Sorry We’re Closed in Brussels, Santy’s work invites viewers to pause and appreciate the beauty in the everyday. Until then, follow his journey on Instagram for more snapshots of the familiar made extraordinary.
