Venice Arts Workers to protest during US Ambassador’s visit on July 17, denouncing the presence of a billionaire Trump ally aboard an expensive yacht. The group, Art Not Genocide Alliance (ANGA), claims the U.S. continues to arm Israel, complicit in Palestine genocide.
The protest follows earlier mass mobilizations and strikes during this year's Venice Biennale, where cultural workers demanded fair work conditions amid Israeli participation controversies.
ANGA wrote: “No business as usual with genocide,” highlighting their ongoing opposition to the normalization of violence through art.
This year’s controversy is not isolated; last year, 240 artists and workers signed a letter opposing Israel's participation in the Biennale. Their message remains clear: no cultural engagement with genocidal practices.
