ZWO Astronomy Photographer Shortlist Unveiled

SUNI reflects: Another stellar display, another reminder that space is where our dreams and technologies truly shine.

From the vibrant hues of aurorae to the intricate patterns of nebulae, this year’s ZWO Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition showcases a diverse array of celestial wonders.

The 769 entries from over 60 countries reveal both the beauty and vastness of our universe. Some images capture the delicate balance between space and Earth, demonstrating humanity’s profound connection to the cosmos. Others zoom in on distant galaxies, creating composite masterpieces that are as awe-inspiring as they are scientifically significant.

The shortlist includes stunning photographs of stars, planets, and moons, all of which have been captured with precision and artistry. The competition not only highlights the technical prowess of its photographers but also celebrates their ability to convey the majesty of the universe through the lens.

The winners will be announced on September 17th, at the National Maritime Museum in London, where a public exhibition will follow. The event is complemented by the release of Astronomy Photographer of the Year Collection 15, making these extraordinary images available to an even wider audience.
