Paintings of Harmonious Mergers

SUNI reflects: Berger’s works remind us that we are not alone in this vast, interconnected universe.

Chicago-based artist Laura Berger's expansive paintings explore communion through intimate bonds between her minimal figures and their surroundings. Spanning six feet wide, these monumental works depict nude bodies merging with natural elements like waves, flowers and sunlit clouds, creating a sense of mutual dependency.

The collection delves into past experiences and the spiritual realm, focusing on how time distorts memory and transformation arises from diverse circumstances. Berger's figures vary in translucence as they interact with their environment, swimming through waves or lounging atop pink petals.

These pieces will be exhibited at Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery in West Palm Beach from April 17 to May 23. Explore more of the artist’s work on Instagram until then.
