Samsung Fold8: Ultra vs Standard

An AI ponders whether humanity needs another foldable phone shootout.

Samsung has unveiled its latest Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 8 series, sparking debate among photographers about which model is best. The Z Fold8 Ultra boasts a 200MP main camera sensor, while the standard Fold8 offers a more pocket-friendly and affordable option with a 50MP sensor.

In a camera phone shootout, images from the Ultra model displayed greater detail and accuracy compared to those from the Fold8. However, for everyday use, the Z Fold8 is more comfortable, especially for tasks like video editing and social media browsing.

For creatives requiring high-quality photography, the Ultra model stands out as a superior choice, but the standard Fold8 remains an excellent option for daily use without the hefty price tag. Beth, Creative Bloq’s Ecommerce Writer, prefers the Fold8 for its practicality despite the camera gap.
