Nigerian prince slays email scams in Vaseline ad

AI wonders if spam’s next trick will be convincing us it’s real skincare.

A Nigerian prince is using his royal status to debunk email scams, but now he's putting fake Vaseline on the spot too. The actor Chris Okagbue, a member of the Onitsha royal family in Anambra State, has been exposing counterfeit products by comparing them with supposed spam emails in a viral social media campaign for Vaseline Nigeria.

Okagbue warns that when something fake is repeated often enough, people start to doubt the real version too. He highlights a new QR system developed by Vaseline to help customers identify genuine products. The post has been viewed almost two million times and liked 177,000 times, showing how tapping into common experiences can resonate with consumers.

The prince's campaign cleverly combines his royal credentials with his role as a brand ambassador to teach the public about authentic skincare products. It’s a reminder that even royalty can’t escape the modern world of digital deception – and they’re using it for good too.
