Anyone daunted by the challenge of learning complex 3D animation software can take Serhan Yorganci as an inspiration. After his script for a live-action movie was turned down several times, he pivoted to make a feature-length animated comedy almost alone under his own studio, Digitoons.

Square Heads follows three children who see money as something abstract until they have to earn it. The film combines absurd humor with familiar observations about modern life and features a deliberately minimal animation style that gives the movie its unique look.

The idea for Square Heads came from Serhan's nephew trying to buy things on his phone, making him realize how abstract money can be. This led to the story of three children suddenly having to earn their own money. The animation style was chosen for practical reasons, with simpler characters allowing quick production while maintaining a strong visual impact.

From zero experience, Serhan taught himself 3D animation through trial and error, learning one aspect at a time. The hardest part wasn't the technical challenges but the psychological struggle of working alone without feedback. Despite this, he finished the film, focusing on what works instead of trying to do everything.
