Autumn in New York is synonymous with the art fair frenzy, leaf peeping, and of course, a plethora of exhibitions. This season, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney and MoMA are showcasing everything from iconic Abstract Expressionists like Lee Krasner and Jackson Pollock to the trailblazers of tomorrow, such as Arthur Jafa, Taryn Simon and Teresa Margolles.

But it’s not just about the big names. The Bennett Prize is open for women realist painters, and the queer community is celebrated through a fundraiser exhibition. And if you thought the police had the right idea, they broke into a gallery thinking a sculpture was a real person in need of help.
