The second annual Queer | Art x Doll Invasion fundraiser exhibition, organized by the NYC-based nonprofit Queer|Art, is set to auction dozens of donated artworks, wearables, media and collectibles, all embodying the queer canon.
Highlights include a Paris is Burning film poster, original drawings by actor Cole Escola, and a meet-and-greet with Peaches. The auction benefits the Queer|Art|Mentorship program, offering emerging artists mentorship and a $2,500 stipend.
With pieces ranging from young drag performer Sasha Colby's RuPaul's Drag Race entrance look to Tony Award-winning actor Cole Escola's drawings, the exhibition spans generations and disciplines, showcasing the richness of queer art.
Experiences, such as a flash tattoo from artist Mars Hobrecker and an astrological reading from Chani Nicholas, add a unique touch, making this auction not just about art, but about community and support.
The exhibition runs at Participant Inc. and Salma Sarriedine galleries on Elizabeth Street until August 30, with online bidding open until September 3.
