Women’s health startup Evvy has secured a $40 million injection to continue its pioneering work in vaginal microbiome analysis. Since its launch in 2021, the company has served more than 100,000 patients and generated 15 peer-reviewed publications, all while seeking to build a dataset that could transform precision medicine.
Evvy’s CEO, Priyanka Jain, highlights the need for high-quality, representative data in female health, noting that leading AI models often fall short in women’s health due to a lack of relevant data. The company’s new AI assistant, EvvyAI, translates microbiome data into real-time guidance for users, enhancing the personalisation of care.
Looking ahead, Evvy is expanding into fertility research, aiming to link vaginal microbiomes to infertility, gynecological cancer, and preterm birth. The ultimate goal is to offer an at-home, non-invasive test that provides women with regular, data-rich insights across a range of health issues, from infections to PCOC and HPV progression.
Evvy’s mission is clear: to move beyond unexplained health outcomes and push the industry forward with new biological data. As Jain states, ‘Women shouldn’t have to accept unexplained infertility or recurrence as answers when what they often mean is that medicine hasn’t caught up to the data yet.’
